Miami Housing and health summit 2023
Thank you for joining us in catalyzing innovative strategies to address housing as one of the main drivers of our community’s health! This was the first of its kind gathering of leaders from healthcare, philanthropic and housing sectors convening to strategize on collaborative solutions for affordable housing in Miami. The summit featured a keynote address by David Erickson, Senior Vice President and Head of Outreach & Education at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and a keynote interview of Ron Book, the esteemed Chairman of the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust. We were also proud to recognize Mayor Daniella Cava as the distinguished 2023 Housing and Health Champion.
This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors. The Knight Foundation, Bradesco, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, TD Bank, Health Foundation of South Florida, Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners Oliver G. Gilbert, III (Commission District 1), Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami, Wells Fargo, Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera (District 6), BankUnited, Christ Congregational Church, Coral Rock Development Group, Banesco, and the MIAMI Association of Realtors.
It is no secret that housing insecurity of all kinds impacts health outcomes, especially for extremely low- to moderate-income households. This summit provided a platform for discussion on how the best-in-class solutions can be implemented in Miami-Dade, with sessions including:
+ Research on the state of health outcomes and housing needs in Miami-Dade County
+ Innovations in affordable housing and health finance
+ National best practices in healthy housing design, and more.
We’ve released the full-length recordings of the panel sessions. Watch them on our YouTube channel!
